‘Help me Angela’ safety campaign amplified at Edinburgh Festival

The ‘Help me Angela’ safety campaign is being amplified at this year’s Edinburgh Festival thanks to a partnership with outdoor advertising specialist GEM Display.

Created in collaboration with ethical fan-to-fan ticket resale marketplace Twickets, the world-famous comedy festival’s awareness campaign will be promoted across GEM Display’s flagship Edinburgh display location, Picardy Place.

Visitors who buy their festival tickets via Twickets will be gifted free access to the ‘Help Me Angela’ platform, which includes 24/7 access in under 10 seconds to a 999 trained Rapid Response Team and route planning  using street lighting and crime data.

“Twickets was created to provide a safe place for fans to buy resale tickets and to avoid being scammed by touts,” said founder, Richard Davies.

“Summer is the busiest time of the year for events and we are delighted to launch this partnership to anyone attending a live experience who is concerned about their own safety or that of their family or friends.”

The app also contains a ‘join my journey’ feature where a live journey can be shared with three friends, as well as practical advice from personal safety experts.

GEM Display sales director, Dave Watson added: “As a media owner operating the most prominent ad display in Edinburgh, we embrace our responsibility to make a positive difference to the local community, and by displaying this fantastic campaign we feel we are helping to do this.

“These ads will help keep people safe at the busiest time of the year in the city.”
